Van & motorhome mechanical care

Keep work and weekends moving.

Practical servicing and mechanical support for working vans and suitable motorhome base vehicles, with capacity and access checked before your visit.

Commercial vehicles representing van and fleet workshop enquiries
VULCAN MOTORS / Vans & motorhomes
01

Tell us what is coming in.

A model name alone may not describe a converted vehicle. Provide the registration, height, length, weight information and axle layout so reception can check suitability and plan workshop access.

We do not take three-axle motorhomes with a front axle and two independent rear axles. Confirm eligibility before travelling, especially for larger or unusually configured vehicles.

Maintenance for the base vehicle.

The service is agreed around the engine, mileage, age, maintenance history and working use. Long periods standing, short delivery journeys and high-mileage work can lead to different maintenance conversations.

  • Engine oil, filters and relevant scheduled maintenance
  • Mechanical condition and fluid concerns within the agreed service
  • Brakes, suspension and steering repairs as required
  • Suitable tyre and alignment work, subject to vehicle capacity
  • Conventional battery, starting and charging concerns

Mechanical care, not habitation servicing.

Our motorhome work is on the mechanical base vehicle and chassis. We do not provide habitation servicing, living-area repairs, leisure-battery work or a general inspection of the accommodation equipment.

Southern Motorhome Centre is next door for separate motorhome enquiries. Any work outside our mechanical scope must be arranged and confirmed with the appropriate specialist; it is not automatically included in a Vulcan booking.

04

MOT and maintenance are different bookings.

We provide on-site Class 4, 5 and 7 MOT testing for eligible vehicles. Reception can confirm the appropriate class and whether the size and configuration can be accommodated.

Our last MOT slot starts at 4:45pm on weekdays and 12:15pm on Saturdays. A test generally takes around 45 minutes. A test does not replace the agreed servicing or mechanical investigation.

05

Plan downtime and collection.

Explain whether the vehicle is essential for work or a forthcoming trip, and whether you are booking one vehicle or a fleet. We discuss the work and parts requirements before promising a collection time.

Please confirm parking and arrival arrangements for a large vehicle with reception. Clear access to the areas being worked on and advise the team about conversions or modifications that may affect the job.
