Seized components & damaged threads
Difficult fixings. A considered repair.
A seized fixing does not always mean replacing the surrounding assembly. We assess access, material condition and the chances of a sound repair before choosing an extraction or replacement route.

The condition determines the method.
Corrosion, heat cycles and previous repair attempts can make dismantling unpredictable. Send any useful photographs or reports, but final scope may depend on seeing the vehicle and exposing the affected area.
- Broken manifold studs and seized spark plugs
- Injector and glow-plug extraction after assessment
- Seized bolts and driveshaft-to-hub separation
Recover a serviceable fixing where suitable.
Suitable spark-plug, sump drain-plug and other thread repairs are offered using an appropriate repair method. Access, remaining material and the component specification determine whether an insert is viable or replacement is safer.
- Assess the original damage
- Protect surrounding parts and working surfaces
- Confirm a secure, appropriate repair
Loose-unit and press-work enquiries.
We can consider press-work on suitable hubs, bearings and bushes. Loose manual gearboxes, differentials and transfer boxes also have dedicated repair routes. Contact reception before bringing a component so its identity, condition and acceptance are clear.
- Part and vehicle identification
- Previous damage or extraction attempts
- Scope and charges agreed before work
No promise that every part will release.
Hidden wear and seized components may only become apparent during necessary dismantling, despite reasonable care. We explain unexpected findings and seek approval for additional chargeable work before proceeding wherever practicable. A component breaking does not itself authorise further repairs.
- Assessment is chargeable
- Estimates may change with findings
- Repairability cannot be guaranteed in advance
