An interval for your engine—not a generic number.
Timing-belt schedules vary by engine and may depend on both age and mileage. Give us the registration, current mileage and any invoice showing previous replacement. If the history is missing, tell us rather than relying on an assumption.
We can discuss the relevant maintenance requirement and whether the vehicle is due for attention. A routine service should not be assumed to include a timing-belt replacement unless this has specifically been agreed.

The proposed job should identify the components being replaced and the access needed. Depending on the engine, associated tensioners, idlers or a related water pump may be part of the discussion. Not every engine uses the same arrangement.
- Confirm the exact engine and replacement history
- Agree the belt-system components and associated labour
- Discuss related fluid or cooling work where applicable
- Record the completed work for future maintenance
Eligible timing-chain work.
Timing chains are assessed around the engine, symptoms and condition. A rattle or warning light can have more than one cause, so investigation may be needed before a chain repair can be recommended.
We do not undertake timing-chain work on VAG V6 and larger engines, or JLR timing-chain work. Share your engine details before booking so we can establish whether we can help.

Noises, poor running and timing-related fault codes need context. Diagnostic data, maintenance history and mechanical checks help determine the next step. The team will explain where strip-down is necessary to identify the full extent of a problem.
We do not promise that replacing one timing component will resolve unrelated engine wear or damage. Any further findings and proposed work are discussed before the scope grows.

Have the registration, mileage, service record and previous timing-work invoice available if possible. Describe any noise and when it occurs, and mention warning lights or recent repair work.
The team will discuss eligibility, the proposed work, parts lead times and workshop availability. If you are unsure whether the concern affects getting the vehicle to us, speak to reception before arranging the visit.
